Summary: We arrived just after midday to attend an afternoon function nearby. As we would be drinking we thought to uber there and back and drive home next day. We entered the room - all looked ok. We were hit by the smell of cigarette smoke. The fridge was filthy - half drunk water bottle, used sachet of butter, used milk - and a disgustingly dirty icebox. The bathroom was cracked everywhere and in need of a fix (not that that was a huge issue). There were two flies happy buzzing about. We decided to lay on the bed until it was time to go. I searched for an extra pillow. No - we were issued one each. Am I being harsh? I don’t think so - I have paid less for better. At $249 in the middle of nowhere for this standard? We ended up packing the car and driving to the function. I had two drinks and we drove home later - happily.
