Swan Valley Heights sits up on the Scarp with unlimited views over the entire city of Perth. There are plenty of kangaroos to watch all day long as well as sheep grazing the property. Watch magnificent sunsets or observe storms as they slowly make their way across the beautiful city of Perth or just sit on the front verandah and watch the planes as they come and go in the distance. We are situated on ten peaceful acres with a winter creek running through the block, walkways run from here up through the bush land with wildflowers abundant in season. The owner, under the direction of George Lulfitz, West Australian Guru of native plants, is developing the extensive garden surrounding the accommodation making use of our beautiful West Australian native plants. The home is furnished with pictures and other items that clearly reflect the owners New Zealand and Australian heritage and his love of this great country especially all things of nature and the outback.
You’re welcome to have daytime guests while you stay with us. We allow up to half the number of people on your booking to visit during the day (for example, if you’ve booked for 8 guests, you may have up to 4 visitors). All visitors must leave by 10pm and overnight stays are only for registered guests.

Summary: The host was friendly and available. The house is well designed, plenty of parking and the pool was very appreciated and well kept. Chickens were well kept which is a rarity and shows the host's care and kindness. Lovely to be isolated from noisy roads and planes but close to plenty of cafes, pubs etc. and activities. Beautiful views across the valley. The cleanliness and general upkeep of the house inside was disappointing. Did a lot of cleaning ourselves in order to be comfortable - vacuum cleaner completely full which probably accounted for the floor being gritty through out. All skirting boards dusty and uncleaned. Kettle contained bugs, microwave interior not cleaned, toaster trays heavy with crumbs, oven had cooked foods hanging off racks and on bottom tray, cutlery and kitchen drawers and cupboards had crumbs and debris in most areas, air conditioner filter in ceiling blocked with thick dust, dryer filter full, under bedroom one bed thick with dust, bedroom two under bed was awful with rubbish and years of dust, ceiling fans throughout smothered in dust. There was more but I think I have made the point. Maintenance required with dirty marks, lots of dust, scuffs, scratches etc to most walls. Door locks on both bathrooms do not seem to work, had trouble locking some external doors, pantry door jammed and hallway door requires maintenance to close without needing to be slammed. Could be 5 star but needs much better cleaning, and interior maintenance.
