Relax on your own jetty overlooking the beautiful Werri lagoon & watch the many water birds. Mr Percival our resident pelican lives opposite. Grab one of the SUP’s to paddle around to the beach or explore rest of the lagoon. Swimming at the lagoon beach end is shallow and perfect for the little ones, a quick dip or photo op while your partner hits the waves adjacent. The beautiful Kiama coastal walk starts there too. Enjoy great food & coffee options, many wineries, surfing and a relaxed Gezza lifestyle.
Birdlife There are many friendly parrots, wattlebirds, magpies and peewees that nest in the trees and come up close to the house to visit. If one comes inside just open the back doors wide and leave for a while. There is also a huge variety of birdlife on the lagoon including Pelicans (Mr. Percival lives across from us), various Cranes, Spoonbills, and Shags. Ducks and Maggie’s also come around from time to time if you want to feed them.
The Lagoon The lagoon is clean as it is regularly flushed being connected with the beach for short but regular periods. It is safe to swim in if you want a quick dip and there are no sharks (just so you know). It abounds with a variety of bird and fish life and you can fish off the jetty or a SUP. It is in the shape of a hand with various tributaries that can be explored, we back on to the main part of the lagoon.
Stand Up Paddles / Bodyboard: The SUP’s and bodyboard are for your enjoyment. The paddles are on the fence near the SUP’s. The SUP’s can be used like a kayak sitting down with the double ended paddle, this is a great and easy way to get around. Go right if you wish to paddle to the beach. NOTE: Be aware that a strong wind is very hard to row against if standing up using the single SUP paddle. Please tie bodyboard down with strap so it doesn’t blow away.
The Beach Gerringong has good consistent surfing at both ends of the main beach. There is a Surf School at Gerroa beach which has much safer surf. If you are not familiar with Australian beaches and you can also swim more safely in the following areas where there are no dangerous currents or waves: North end beach lagoon connection (great for kids) South end beach swimming pools Boat Harbour rock swimming pool
You can take a 3 minute walk to the beach, and walk or short drive to the Bowling club, shops, cafe and restaurants. There is a bus for the nearby club, taxis and a railway station.

Walking Tracks
The Bluff For a special moment when the sun is going up or down go up to the bluff. There is a walking track that goes up along the northern side near the the Kiama Walk.
The Kiama Walk For a longer walk or ride this takes in spectacular cliff top scenery. There is no need to go all the way to appreciate this walk. Sometimes the local dolphin pod catches the waves at the beach north of Werri behind the bluff. There is also a very large Osprey who patrols this area.
