Summary: We had a week at Alonissos for our honeymoon and started our stay at Marpounta. We looked forward to a relaxing experience with all inclusive chilling on some sunbeds. For this purpose the hotel was perfect. But the stay started quite disappointing. Since it was our honeymoon I wanted the hotel to arrange a small attention for our arrival at the room. We also wanted to be picked up at the ferry port and transported to the hotel, since this is something the hotel seemingly offers according to hotels.com. I contacted the hotel for these inquiries but I never got a reply. So we was not picked up at the ferry port and was not welcomed with any little attention upon our arrival. Bad first impression. We were also given a wrong room and had to move, luckily before we had packed out. With this said, the food was wonderful and varied, the staff was nice and the location near the sea was beautiful. It’s a chill vibe that suites several ages. Notice that hotels.com states checkout at 12 pm local time, but the reel checkout is at 11 am local time.
