This makes it an ideal base for exploring everything the Blue Mountains has to offer.
The house is divided into two distinct areas.
- Upstairs features three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a spacious open-plan living, kitchen, and dining area that opens onto a veranda.
- Downstairs is a self-contained one-bedroom apartment with its own bathroom, kitchenette, living area with TV, and a private deck.
For bookings of six guests or fewer, use of the downstairs apartment incurs an additional $100 fee.
Upstairs
Harry’s Lookout is located on quiet Wilson Street, with no through traffic, only local residents, making it a peaceful place to stay. At the front of the house are two queen bedrooms, one with an ensuite, positioned on either side of the front door. Further along is the third bedroom and the main bathroom. The home then opens into a large, light-filled, open plan living space with high ceilings creating a wonderful sense of space. The rear of the house is almost entirely glass doors, looking out to the bush, with the Carrington chimney just visible above the trees. Native birdlife and bush sounds create a sense of being well away from urban life. The back veranda is welcoming at any time of day and a lovely place to sit and relax.
The house is comfortable in all seasons, with ducted reverse-cycle heating and cooling throughout. In cooler months, the slow-combustion log fire adds warmth and atmosphere, with firewood stacked under the rear deck.
The kitchen is fully equipped to cater for groups of any size, and the dining table comfortably seats nine guests. For those who prefer to cook outdoors, there is a four-burner BBQ.
In the living area, the couches comfortably seat nine, making it easy to chat, listen to music, play games, watch TV or a video on the VCR, or simply enjoy the fire.
Harry’s Lookout is connected to the NBN with speeds of around 50 Mbps and Wi-Fi throughout the property so that you can stay connected during your stay.
Downstairs
The downstairs apartment is ideal for larger groups or families wanting extra space and privacy. With the additional bathroom, the house comfortably accommodates up to nine guests, meaning there is roughly one bathroom for every three people. This helps avoid queues for showers when the house is full.
For families with children, the extra living area with TV and games provides a separate space to relax away from the main living area upstairs. It also works well for groups with infants or toddlers, offering a quieter area for daytime naps, a kitchenette for preparing food or warming bottles, and a comfortable lounge if you are up during the night or early morning without disturbing the rest of the group.
Please note there is no internal access between the upstairs and downstairs areas. The downstairs apartment is accessed via the external stairs from the rear veranda. The apartment is not rented separately from the main house. For bookings of six guests or fewer, an additional $100 fee applies to use this area and must be requested at the time of booking, as it is added manually.
