Screened verandahs wrap around 3 sides of the Cottage to provide great entertaining where you can enjoy the cool sea breeze and fresh island air, while still being completely protected from the weather. Both the verandah and indoor open plan living space provide comfortable couches for your relaxation pleasure. Meals can be prepared in the fully-equipped kitchen with oven, stove, microwave, full-sized fridge/freezer and coffee pod machine.
Step outdoors to enjoy the tropical island weather in comfort under the covered and paved entertaining patio. You'll have all you need to make the most of this great space with an outdoor dining table for six, a modern gas BBQ, and lighting so you can relax well into the evening. The grassed yard is well maintained, fully-fenced, and lined with fruit trees, palms and leafy garden beds. Dining can also occur on the screened and well-lit verandah using the glass topped cane dining set overlooking the front garden.
Cockatoo Cottage is perfect for couples, friends and families who either like being active, or prefer to relax while on holiday. Wi-Fi is provided so no need to chew up your data while on holidays and is connected to a 50-inch Smart TV, so you don’t miss out on your favourite streamed TV series or recent movies. A reading nook with library holds classic and contemporary books, DVD’s, playing cards, card games and jigsaw puzzles. For energetic folks and/or nature lovers, the Nelly-Arcadia-Junction walking track is just a 10-minute walk up the road.
You will enjoy your holiday whilst situated close to everything you may require. The Ferry Terminal, Nelly Bay Marina and either of two supermarkets are just a slow 10-minute walk, and the Cottage is only 100 meters to the closest restaurants and bar. Alternatively, catch the bus which stops just 15 meters from the front gate. As well as several great cafes and restaurants, Nelly Bay offers fantastic snorkelling, an established snorkelling trail and a stunning stretch of beach.
